E on the Dobro, Every Scale

24 types, one root. Pick one for the map this chair's fills come from.

Every scale type this site maps, rooted on E and laid onto this chair. Country leans hard on three of them — major, the major pentatonic inside it, and the blues scale that bends the rest — and the other 21 are here for the song that needs one.

The dobro slides into notes rather than fretting them cleanly, so a scale here is a target list for the bar more than a set of stops — the slide finds the pitch, the scale says which pitch to find.
